*Here are some important facts about the first Juz that you may not know:*
1. It is called Bismillahi of Alhamdulillahi.
2. It covers a total of 141 verses from Surah Baqarah which is the longest Surah of the Quran
3. Surah Al-Fatiha, which muslims recite daily in their prayers is considered by many as not part of any Juz, though some include it in the first Juz of the Quran
4. All the verses in this Juz are believed to have been revealed in Mediinah and there main focus is on the nature of Humanity
5. It covers the story of the creation of Adam, and Satan's disobedience to God
6. It also covers at length the example of the children of Isreal. How ungrateful they were to the favours their Lord had bestowed upon them.
7. The story of the Calf, from which Surah Baqarah gets its name is also covered halfway of this Juz
8. Towards it's end, the Juz makes mention of the affair of prophet Sulaiman and explains how withcraft and socery began.
9. The Juz towards the end makes mention of the family of prophet Abrahim, his prayer for the city of Mekka, and how a proper will is made; citing the example of Jacob's last words to his sons.
10. The Juz ends with declaration that each nation will be judged separately. And that it is not logical to stick to the ways of our fore-fathers in the face of truth!
May Allah make this Ramadan the best Ramadan in our entire lives

AN-NOOR MASJID KHUTBAH IBB WAY WUSE II ABUJA 26-05-2017:
WELCOME TO THE MONTH OF RAMADAN
O people! Fear Allah your Lord, worship Him and thank Him on his blessings upon you; praise Him and appreciate His blessings upon you of the seasons of goodness that occur repeatedly every year, so that you gain through them grace and favor repeatedly.
O Servants of Allah! Indeed it has come to you a great month and a generous season, good deeds are multiplied in it and sins are greatly heinous in it. It is the month of Ramadan that Quran was revealed in it, it is the month of fasting and night prayers, a month of charity and piety, a month whose beginning is full of mercy, whose middle is full of forgiveness and whose end is full of emancipation from the hell.
Ramadan O brothers is a month in which Allah has blessed the nation of Muhammad with (peace be upon him) and has granted her five privileges He had not given any other nation. These privileges are:
1. The khuloof (smell) of the mouth of a fasting person is sweeter in the Sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk.
2. The angels keep praying to Allah to forgive them (i.e. those who are fasting), until they break their fast.
3. Allah decorates Jannah (paradise) every day saying to it, 'My pious slaves are about to be relieved of their burdens and sufferings and enter you'.
4. Devils are chained in this month, so they cannot achieve what they usually achieve (at other times).
5. The believers' sins are forgiven by the last night of Ramadan.
Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. Also, whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. Ramadan is a month in which the doors of paradise are opened and the doors of hell are closed. It is narrated in Bukhari and Muslim that the messenger (peace be upon him) said: “Allah Said, every act by the son of Adam will be rewarded between ten and seven hundred fold. Allah said: ‘Except fasting, for it is for Me and I shall reward for it for he gave up his desires, his food and his drink for My Sake. There are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord.”
O servants of Allah! Verily the month of Ramadan is a month you should take advantage of and profit from. You should take advantage of it through
worship, frequent prayer and
recitation of Quran, zhikr (remembrance of Allah),
forgiving people, and
goodness. Clear all enmity
and hatred from among you because People's deeds are
presented before Allah on
Mondays and Thursdays, and then every slave (of Allah) is granted forgiveness (of minor sins) if he does not associate anything with Allah in worship. But the person in whose heart there is rancor against his brother, will not be pardoned. With regard to them, it is said twice: 'Hold these two until they are reconciled.
Increase in this holy month your Istigfar, shahada (testifying that there is no deity that deserves worship except Allah), asking Allah the
paradise and seeking refuge with Allah from hell . You also should be keen of dua
(supplication) at the time of iftar (breaking fast) because it is stated in an authentic hadith that the fasting person has at the time of iftar a chance of a supplication that doesn’t get rejected.
We should know that fasting was ordained so that we get beautified with piety and for us to deprive our bodies from what Allah has prohibited. Therefore, we are to abstain from all taboos like fraud, oppression, cheating, reducing the scale and weighing balance, depriving rights, looking at haram, and
listening to forbidden songs; because listening to forbidden songs reduces the reward of fasting person. We should also abstain from all ill talks like lie, backbiting, gossip, insults and verbal abuse , even if somebody insults or verbally abuses you, you should say: “I am fasting” and don’t respond/reply with abuse or insult.
O Muslim! You should not make your fasting days look like your normal days, the prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions and does not abandon foolishness, Allah is not in need of his leaving food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his FASTING).”
Finally, the month of Ramadan is a school for renewing Iman (faith), polishing conducts, sharpening lives, reforming souls, and adjusting instincts. Ramadan is an institution of
curbing lust/desire . Ramadan is a month which you and I should understand the reality of fasting and its secrets, learn its etiquettes and its
provisions, spend its days and nights in pious deeds, guard
your fasting from shortages and nullifiers, renew your repentance and fulfill its conditions; Allah might overlook your sins as a result and count you among those He gives Rahma (mercy), those that He emancipates from fire.
May Allah count us among those that He will grant Aljannah and emancipate from fire in this holy month.

Those who are not able to fast, such as the elderly man/woman (past age off child bearing), may break their fast & instead feed a needy person for every day they missed. This is due to their falling under the saying of Allah: *And as for those who cannot fast (because of difficulty) they may feed a needy person (for each day missed)*. Anas Ibn Maalik (May Allah be pleased with him), reported that he was weak one year & could not fast. So he made a bowl of porridge & called thirty needy people & fed them." *reported by Ad-Daraqutnee*.
If a pregnant woman or a breastfeeding woman fears for herself or for her child, she may break her fast & instead feed a needy person for each day missed. This is based on her falling under the generality of the ruling found in the previous ayah. These two types of women do not have to make up for the missed days of fasting (i.e. by fasting the missed days after feeding the needy).

Islam and Muslims
The Arabic word ‘Islam’ means ‘submission’, and is derived from a word meaning ‘peace’. As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Law.
Islam is not a new religion because ‘submission to the will of God’, i.e. Islam, has always been the only acceptable religion in the sight of God. For this reason, Islam is the true ‘natural religion’, and it is the same eternal message revealed through the ages to all of God’s prophets and messengers. The main message of all the prophets has always been that there is only One True God and He alone is to be worshipped. These prophets start with Adam and include Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them all. God says in the Holy Quran:
“We did not send before you (O Muhammad) any messenger but We revealed to him: ‘none has the right to be worshipped except I, therefore worship Me.’” (Quran 21:25)
However, the true message of these prophets was either lost or got corrupted over time. Even the most recent books, the Torah and the Gospel were adulterated and hence they lost their credibility to guide the people to the right path. Therefore 600 years after Jesus, God revived the lost message of previous prophets by sending the Prophet Muhammad with His final revelation, the Holy Quran, to all of mankind. Since the Prophet Muhammad was the final prophet, God Himself has promised to preserve His last revealed words so that it is a source of guidance for all humanity till the Last Day. It is now imperative for everyone to believe and follow this final message from God. God Almighty says in the Quran:
“We have not sent you (O Muhammad) but to all mankind as a giver of good news and as a warner, but most people do not know.” (Quran 34:28)
“Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.” (Quran 3:85)
The word “Muslim” means one who submits to the will of God, regardless of his/her race, nationality or ethnic background. Hence, any person who is ready to submit to the will of God is eligible to become a Muslim.
Benefits of Converting to Islam
There are many benefits of converting to Islam. Some of them are:
• One forms a personal and direct relationship with God by worshipping Him alone, without the need of intermediaries. One feels this personal relationship and is aware that God knows everything and is there to assist him/her.
• A person realizes the true purpose of his or her life, which is to recognize God and follow His commandments.
• A person is provided with a light, which guides him/her through life. The religion of Islam has answers to all situations, and one will always know the right steps to take in all aspects of life.
• One finds true happiness, tranquility, and inner peace.
• Upon converting to Islam, all of one’s previous sins are forgiven, and one starts a new life of piety and righteousness. And as a Muslim, when one makes a mistake thereafter, he/she can always repent to God who forgives the sins of those who repent to Him sincerely. There are no intermediaries or created beings to make confessions to.
• One achieves salvation from Hellfire, which all prophets have warned against.
• The greatest benefit is that a Muslim is promised by God the reward of eternal Paradise (Heaven). Those who are blessed with Paradise, will live eternally in bliss without any sort of sickness, pain or sadness. God will be pleased with them and they will be pleased with Him. Even the lowest in rank among the dwellers of Paradise will have ten times the like of this world, and they will have whatever they desire. In fact, in Paradise there are pleasures that no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and no mind has ever thought of. It will be a very real life, not spiritual only, but physical as well.
To know more about some of the benefits in converting to Islam, you may read this article “The Benefits of Converting to Islam (3 parts)”.
How to Convert to Islam - The Testimony of Faith (Shahada)
Becoming a Muslim is a simple and easy process. All that a person has to do is to say a sentence called the Testimony of Faith (Shahada), which is pronounced as:
I testify “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasoolu Allah.”
These Arabic words mean, “There is no true god (deity) but God (Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God.” Once a person says the Testimony of Faith (Shahada) with conviction and understanding its meaning, then he/she has become a Muslim.
The first part, “There is no true deity but God,” means that none has the right to be worshipped but God alone, and that God has neither partner nor son. The second part means that Muhammad was a true Prophet sent by God to humankind.
To be a Muslim, one should also:
- Believe that the Holy Quran is the literal word of God, revealed by Him.
- Believe that the Judgment Day (Resurrection Day) is true and will come.
- Believe in the prophets that God sent and the books He revealed, and in His angels.
- Accept Islam as his/her religion.
- Not worship anything nor anyone except God.
It is that easy! To hear the Testimony (Shahada), click here or click on “Live Help” for immediate assistance by chat.
The conversion can be done alone, but it is much better to do it with the help of one of our advisors through the “Live Help”, so we may help you in pronouncing it right and to provide you with important pieces of information and advice that is especially prepared for new converts, to help them get started with their newfound faith.

You are Not Alone

We highly recommend that you inform us now through the Contact Us form or through the “Live Help”, so that we can provide you with useful resources and advice, suitable for you as a new Muslim.
We congratulate you on your decision, welcome you to Islam, and will try our best to help you in any way we can! :)
Some Common Misconceptions
Some people may postpone their conversion to Islam, though they believe it to be the true religion of God, due to some misconceptions. They may think that things like changing their name, knowing some Arabic, informing others of their conversion, knowing some Muslims, or not having committed many sins, are conditions for conversion – however the reality is that none of these are valid excuses for delaying the conversion.
If you would like to learn more about these and other similar misconceptions, please read the article, “I want to be a Muslim but... Myths about Converting to Islam (3 parts)”.
For Those Not Yet Convinced
Islam claims to be the true way to God. What makes one religion valid over other ideologies is the proofs it offers for its truthfulness. Hence, one needs to look at these proofs, weight them and take an informed decision. One needs to be sincere in one’s endeavour and above all seek the help of the Almighty to guide him/her to the right path.
If a person is still not convinced of the truthfulness of Islam, then he/she can further look at the proofs Islam offers. Islam offers overwhelming proofs of its truthfulness and is the only religion that completely appeals to common sense.
Some of the proofs Islam offers are: the scientific proofs in the Quran, the miracles performed by the Prophet Muhammad and the prophesies of his coming in previous scriptures, the foretold events mentioned in the Quran that later came to pass, the unmet challenge of the Quran to bring even a chapter like it, and the divine wisdom in the laws and teachings of Islam that cover all aspects of life. To learn more about the proofs of Islam, please check the articles under this section, “Evidence Islam is Truth”.
If you would like to learn more about Islam and its fundamental beliefs and practices, then please refer to the article “What is Islam? (4 parts)”.
Our everlasting life in the Hereafter depends on what faith we choose to follow in this transient life, hence let us give this struggle the priority it deserves

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT FASTING
1. When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of paradise are opened, the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained. (Al-Bukhari 1898, Muslim 1079)
2. Every Muslim must make intention before fajr to fast(for an obligatory fast). Intention is not uttered. It is determination in the mind and should not be done with audible wordings. (Al Bukhari 1, Abu Dawood 2454)
3. Fasting is NOT just abstaining from eating and drinking, it is also refraining from vain speech and foul language. If one is verbally abused, he should say 'I am fasting' (Muslim 1151)

9. Whoever provides a fasting person something with which to break his fast, he will earn the same reward as the person without the person's reward being reduced. (At-tirmidhi 807)
10. It is PERMISSIBLE for a fasting person to bath or pour over his head to relief him of the hotness of the sun or of thirst. (Abu dawud 2365)
11. If somebody eats or drinks FORGETFULLY while fasting, he should complete his fast, for what he has eaten or drunk been given to him by Allaah. (Al Bukhari 1933, Muslim 1155)
12. Zakaatul fitr is OBLIGATORY on every muslim, old & young, slave & free, male & female. One Sa'a (approx. 3kg) of food items should be given out before people go out for the 'Eid prayer. (Al Bukhari 579/2, Muslim 2159)

Ramadan Has Arrived
Rejoice and be glad the month has come
The world awaits its arrival
Lots of preparation here and there
What has made you so special like this
The month in which Shaytan is chained
Widely opened is the gate of Paradise
Tightly closed is the gate of hell
Muslim fast therein from dawn to dusk
As an injunction from the Almighty Allah
Shunning all evil acts
Engaging in all sorts of goods as ibadah
Striving generously in the cause of Allah
The first ten days is for His blessings;
Seek the blessings of Allah therein
The second ten is for forgiveness;
Seek His forgiveness in it
For he would forgive you your past sins
The third part of it is full of His mercies;
Therein is a night better than a thousand months
Where He sends His angels down on earth
Saying peace be upon you till dawn
So special indeed you are
Al-Qur'an The manual of life (Qur'an) is revealed in thee
For mankind to follow and not eschew
Muslims are advised to read a lot
Countless of lessons Muslims learn in thee
To be conscious of Allah and deny ourselves
To sympathize with less endured fellows
To obey Allah and His apostle
To cultivate peace, brotherhood and endurance
To spend generously with our soul and wealth
And the peak of all, to have piety
All these have nothing to enrich Allah
Nor does it subdue His Majesty
Only to make us better believers
Who are conscious of returning to Allah
To account for our deeds
O Muslims! Let us rejoice
The blessed month has arrived!

*RAMADHAN🌹💎*
Ramadhan *became obligatory in the second year of Hijrah.*
So the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallaam) *fasted for 9 years and fasting went through two stages.*
💎 *The first* stage was that a person was given a choice between fasting and feeding a poor person, with fasting being more preferred.
💎 *The second* stage was fasting without the choice as is stated in the Saheehayn on the authority of Salama bin Al ak-wa (RA) that when the verse
💦 *“For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent”* was revealed, that whoever didn’t want to fast would feed a person, until the following verse abrogated the original verse by saying, *💦“whoever of you lives to see this month shall fast throughout it; but he that is ill, or on a journey, [shall fast instead for the same] number of other days.”*
So Allah made it obligatory without giving a choice.
📌 The fasting is not obligatory until it is certain the beginning of the month has been reached, and there is no fasting before the month begins, as the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallaam) said, 💦 *“None of you should fast a day or two before Ramadan except for a man who customarily fasts. He should fast that day.”* (Bukhari)
📌 And the beginning of the month is determined in *two ways.*
🌻 *The first way*, is by *seeing the new moon* as Allah says,
💎 *“Whoever of you lives to see this month should fast it”* and the saying of the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallaam), *“If you see the new moon then fast.*” (Agreed upon)
👌 It is not a condition that everyone has to personally see the new moon, if someone trustworthy witnesses, then it is obligatory on everyone to fast.👌👌👌👌👌👌

❌ COMMON MISTAKES IN RAMADAN 🌙
1. Drinking
Milkshakes made with syrups etc on a daily basis
- Why: It contains high amounts of sugar, additives and colourants
- Solution: If you have to, drink it twice a week maximum
2. Drinking large amounts of water at iftaar time
- Why: Filling the stomach with water is more strenuous to it than with food.
- Solution: have a few sips at iftaar then a glass after every two hours.
3. Exercising directly after iftaar.
- Why: the body's blood flow is concentrated around the stomach at that time.
- Solution: Exercise after two hours of eating to ease digestion.
4. Chewing and swallowing food fast.
- Why: chewing food slowly can speed up digestion and help maintain your weight
5. Having dessert directly after iftaar
- Why: they make you drowsy and sleepy
- Solution: leave at least a two hour gap between iftaar and dessert to stay fresh and awake for ishaa and taraweeh prayers
6. Consuming foods with high amounts of sodium
- Why: Sodium triggers thirst through out the fasting hours of the day
- Solution: instead, eat foods that are high in potassium, they retain water and supress your thirst.
# Bananas are high in potassium. A banana at Suhoor time can control your thirst level through out the day.
# Best sources of potassium for Suhoor time:
- bananas
- milk
- dates
- avocados
- dried peaches
- pistachios
- pumpkin
- peas
- dark chocolate
# Worst choices for Suhoor:
- biryani
- kebab
- pizza
- fast food in general
- cheese
- haleem
# Best choices for Suhoor:
- potato
- rice
- dates
- whole grain bread
- banana
# Drinking lots of water at suhoor is important, but not as much as drinking it through out your non-fasting hours.
May we witness this forthcoming Ramadan with sound health -
Aameen

Pasti ibu
sengaja menyiapkan pagi-pagi ini untukku. Wajar saja, kemarin aku nggak makan
malam karena kebawa bad mood
gara-gara berantem sama kak Shafira. Ughh..
jahat pol!! Lalu, ku kunci pintu kamarku, memastikan agar kakak nggak
Haha... perfect!" tulis Sheila
di buku hariannya.
"Dok! Dok! Dok! Sheilaa..
cepetan buka pintunya!!" kakakku yang sangat amat super duper
menjengkelkan, membuatku kaget setengah mati sampai tersedak saat ku cicipi
suapan pertama.
"Uhuk! Uhuk! Bentar ta, kak!!
nggak tau apa, kalo aku lagi enak-enak breakfast?!"
"Cih, jangan sok bule, lu!
mana kak? Kok nggak ada?" Sheila mencoba untuk mengganti-ganti channel TV. Ia tampak seperti orang
kebingungan karena tak dapat menemukan film kesukaannya.
"Hahahaha! Satu monyet telah
tertipu, maafkan aku, kasihan deh luu ♪!!" tipu Shafira pada adiknya
dengan tertawa terlingkal-pingkal. Sheila pun marah.
"Iiiihh.... dasar kak Fir'aun!!
Awas ya! Sheila nggak mau percaya lagi sama kakak!" Sheila pun mencakar
pipi kakaknya karena telah membuatnya kesal.
"Aaaaau! Sakit tauk! Huh,
"Huaa... mama... kak Shafira
nakal.."
"Shafira! Kamu apakan adikmu
sampai pipinya merah semua gini?! Kalian ini... setiap hari bertengkar saja!
Shafira!
Cepat
maafan!" kata sang ibu.
"Maaf!" kata Shafira singkat.
"Huh!" balas adiknya,
dengan mengulurkan tangannya pula.
***
Huh, gitu deh. Gua benci sama adik
gua sendiri. Setiap hari selalu aja jadi trouble-maker
hidup gua.
lah, ngotorin seragamku lah, nyembunyiin sepatu sekolahku lah, matiin alarmku
lah, ahh pokoknya banyak banget!
adik. Hah, adik? Sebenernya males gua manggil dia sebagai adik. Tapi karena
dipaksa sama ibu, jadi gua harus gitu. Pokoknya males banget ngakuin berdarah
daging sama dia! Disuruh ngambilin kacamataku yang ketinggalan aja ogah.
Harusnya kan sang adik berbakti pada kakaknya, kan? Dan ujung-ujungnya waktu
aku ngerjain adik dikit aja, gua yang kena marah ibu! Aku lagi! Aku lagi! Adik
nggak pernah dimarahin ibu, padahal adik yang memulai perang! Hiiihhh dunia ini
serasa gak adil!
masuk kak, tunggu mbak Salsa ya, dia masih mandi." kata Fatimah, adik
kecil Salsa yang sangat sopan.
"Assalamu'alaikum." kataku
dengan memasuki ruang tamu perlahan.
"Wa'alaikum salam. Duduk dulu
ya, kak." balas Fatimah. Shafira pun melihat sekeliling foto di ruang
tamu.
"Hehe... iya, kak. Syukurlah
kalau manisnya pas." balas Fatimah. Mendengar itu, Fira pun ingin bertanya
pada Fatimah. Sebuah pertanyaan yang ingin sekali ia tanyakan.
"Dik, kakak mau tanya. Kenapa
tamunya kakakmu?" tanya Fira.
"Tamu kakakku itu tamuku juga,
kak.
pun, kak Salsa sering membantuku. Pokoknya, kita tu saling membantu dalam
keadaan apa pun." jawab Fatimah dengan bangganya. Ia terlihat senang
"Pasti dong! Dadaa~"
"Daa~"
Shafira pun bergegas menuju toko
boneka barbie. Di sana, ia belikan adiknya sebuah boneka barbie cantik,
berambut pirang, dan bermata biru. Ia akan memulai hubungan baik pada adiknya.
Ia yakin, adik akan merasa senang. Ia pun bertekad untuk menjadi contoh kakak
yang baik. Lalu, ia pun memancal pedal sepedanya menuju ke rumahnya.
Sesampainya, ia buat kejutan ke adiknya.
"Ciluuuk... Baaa!" Shafira
menutup mata adiknya dan langsung melihatkannya sebuah boneka Barbie kesukaan
adiknya.
"Barbie!!! Hore... makasih, kak
Fira... Sheila sayang kakak!"
Catatan : Sesama saudara, harusnya saling rukun.

Walaupun ia sayang padaku, aku membencinya. Beda dengan ibuku yang justru
semakin galak tiap harinya.
“Hei lu, anak orang cacat! Mana bakat loe menulis pake kaki? Ha-Ha-Ha! Dasar ga tau diri!” Mereka mengolok-olokku dengan membawa-bawa ayahku.
“Siapa kalian! Enak aja, aku tak punya ayah cacat! Minggir!” kataku spontan.
“Halah, anak orang kismin aja, HAHA! Lihat, HP gue baru nih. Gak kepingin?

foto tertuliskan “Our Sweet Journey.”
tahun. Tak disangka, ternyata aku lahir di Roma, Italia. Mengapa aku baru tahu
sekarang? Mengapa mereka tak menceritakannya padaku? Aku yang berusia 15 tahun
sekarang baru mengerti tempat lahirku.
sangat besar.
Pada
halaman kedua, ada sepatah cerita ayah. Walau tulisannya agak pudar, aku tetap
dapat membacanya. Cerita itu menceritakan tentang perjalanan pulang dari
Italia.
Minggu,
23 Oktober 1839
Pagi
itu basah ditetesi oleh salju,
mengiringi perjalanan pulang kita. Salju terus turun. Tumpukan-tumpukan putih
berkilauan di pinggir jalan, membentuk bukit-bukit kecil di sepanjang jalan
raya dan jalur pejalan kaki Roma. Tiba-tiba angin kencang datang, pertanda ada
badai menghempur.
memecah kaca mobil. Segera ku peluk kalian… Ku tak ingin kau dan Phei terluka.
Darah bercucuran sekujur tubuhku. Ku tahan sakit meski harus kehilangan kedua
tanganku.
Hiks. Air
mata terus bercucuran membasahi pipiku. Ya Tuhan… betapa besarnya pengorbanan
ayahku.
bahagia sebelum malaikat maut menjemput mereka. Aku beruntung masih mempunyai
mereka. Aku sangat menyayangi mereka.

The cold night comes with a loud
thunderstorm outside. Drop by drop of water finally makes the city wet. Dooar!
Doooar!!
“Ow yeah! It’s raining cats and dogs,” said Carl
while remembering the last English idiom lesson. Then she threw her notebook
and continued to spend much time sitting down, watching TV, and really had
nothing to do. She enjoyed it everytime.
“Stop being couch potato! Get up and do something
productive, my dear Carl!” said Carl’s mother, Mrs. Humbood. She turned off the
TV. She didn’t want to let her only daughter to be lazy.
“Please, mum! I’m so bad mood today... and I’m not a
lazy girl! I’ve done my homework!” Carl gave her book to her mother so that she
can believe her.
“Carl! Listen to your mother! We know that you
always spend too much time doing nothing! And this is the final semester, isn’t
it? Have you been prepared to face the final exam next week? Don’t go out to
spend such useless activity and don’t watch TV over an hour!” Carl’s father
showed his anger. But he just wanted the best for his daughter. Then he tried
to lower his voice, “Darling, please you go studying now, ok?” Carl just
nodded. She went to her room and began
to write such a writing.
“Dear
Mum.. Dad... I just feel like loosing
part of the puzzle in my life that makes me confused and what must I do now?
Those puzzles are my stars and the moonlight that shines through my yellow
room. But then the heavy rains come. Loosing all the memories is too easy in
that autumn. I can’t catch the leave...
But now I know... you’re the best mom and dad!" Then she slipped it in
her diary. The rain got heavier. She turned her mobile phone on to listen ‘Kiss
The Rain’.
*Some days later...*
“Yep! This is Sunday! Oh no, I’m forget that I can’t
go out,” said Carl while holding her mobile phone. Day by day she became so
bored to stay at home. However, her parents didn’t allow her to go out. So she
texted her friend Kate, to accompany her in the room.
“Cheer up! You’ve had a face like a wet weekend
since yesterday. What’s wrong with you, Carl?” Then she told Kate what was
happened in this recent days.
“I’m so fed up with being stuck in the house all day. Have you got any idea to change my parent’s mind, Kate?”’ said Carl, frowning her face.
“Hmm... one problem a million solution, isn’t? I suggest you to hear their advice and ask them politely that you wanna go out.” Then, Kate showed her big hug to her bestie. She knew that Carl needed a shoulder to cry on. That’s what are friends for. Carl got up and asked her parents politely to hang out with Kate. “Yes, dear... you may go out but you must be home before at noon, okay?” Hearing it, Carl said, “Alright, mum! Thanks a bunch.”

Carl is very happy now. She promised to herself not
to do such useless things again and began to change into the new world. Carl
feels like her spirit comes back. Then she thanked to her bestie to always
support her and to always be there in joy and sorrow. “What a fresh day this
morning!” Since then, she is used to do more productive in her whole
examination week.
The graduation school party comes. Carl is very
happy when she was declared as one of the top students in that junior high
school. Then, she and her friend Kate took some pictures with teachers and
friends. They gave a bouquet of flowers to their teacher. They just couldn’t
forget how hard her teachers taught her. Then Kate said, “Today is our school
graduation party, right? What’s your view on it?” Carl nodded. She said,
“Honestly, Kate... I’m jubilant to be declared as the graduate of this school,
but besides it, I’m so sad too because we have to leave this colourful school
which contains thousand years of memory inside, especially when we used to
spend many activity with teacher, friends, and nothing was more beautiful than
this. And you know? I have to leave to another city to continue my study next
week. Hiks...” Kate didn’t want her bestie torn into tears. She tried to
entertain her, and said, “Yeah, me too. I feel the same too. I know how hard it will be, but listen, you
never walk alone. Trust me that parting is not the end." So saying, Carl showed her smile
and said that Kate understands her well.
But, when she heard ‘Kiss The Rain’ on piano that
came from that cool boy, she was tearing with joy. “I’m terrified of this. I
know it would be changed soon. I’m just a... I’M JUST A... leave that was
falling and blown by the strong wind. All it was stay in memory with... that
cool-brilliant boy. The very silly and
awkward moments have been proved that I was... I was... No, I won’t say it.
It’s impossible. I dream immense to get it. I wanna forget it. So, I’m still
here in the RAIN?”
Suddenly, Scott stopped his perform and came to
Carl. “Hi, Carl! Let’s play together! I know you can play it too, right?” said
him, the cool boy. “Me? What? (oh no... am I dreaming?)” said Carl. “Yeah, come
on! I will take my violin. You should play that black and white thing. Are you
ready?” added Scott while taking his violin. Slowly but surely, Carl said,
“Definitely.”
And .... so it goes. The last encounter gonna be the most precious day she has ever had. She didn’t care what tomorrow will happen. She made sure that today is alright. She is not dreadful of tomorrow. Carl doesn’t know what she feels like. Happy? quiet wrong. Sad? not even. But, she is just having a beautiful butterfly in her stomach!

"Ketika
hujan mulai reda, lihatlah ke atas! Pelangi itu bagaikan warna-warna indah yang
menyejukkan. Bunga-bunga sakura
bermekaran dan berdansa-dansa di antara kupu-kupu mungil. Sungai
Ku ambil
pula HP dan earphone-ku dan
mendengarkan lagu Sky Gate, lagu yang
biasa ku nyanyikan dengannya dulu.
*Sepulang sekolah...*
"Hai,
Misa!

Yak, ♪ Chopin - Symphonie No. 40 in G ♪, aku datang! Nada-nada piano satu persatu ku bunyikan.

membuatku bangkit.

Pembawa acara menyampaikan daftar acaranya setelah penampilan peserta ke-dua
