*Here are some important facts about the first Juz that you may not know:*
1. It is called Bismillahi of Alhamdulillahi.
2. It covers a total of 141 verses from Surah Baqarah which is the longest Surah of the Quran
3. Surah Al-Fatiha, which muslims recite daily in their prayers is considered by many as not part of any Juz, though some include it in the first Juz of the Quran
4. All the verses in this Juz are believed to have been revealed in Mediinah and there main focus is on the nature of Humanity
5. It covers the story of the creation of Adam, and Satan's disobedience to God
6. It also covers at length the example of the children of Isreal. How ungrateful they were to the favours their Lord had bestowed upon them.
7. The story of the Calf, from which Surah Baqarah gets its name is also covered halfway of this Juz
8. Towards it's end, the Juz makes mention of the affair of prophet Sulaiman and explains how withcraft and socery began.
9. The Juz towards the end makes mention of the family of prophet Abrahim, his prayer for the city of Mekka, and how a proper will is made; citing the example of Jacob's last words to his sons.
10. The Juz ends with declaration that each nation will be judged separately. And that it is not logical to stick to the ways of our fore-fathers in the face of truth!
